Dogecoin Speeds into Indy 500: Fans Take the Wheel

Dogecoin (DOGE) is officially set to make an appearance at the Indianapolis 500 racing event this May.

Fans will get to vote on the race car’s design, and the Dogecoin brand is expected to once again grab attention on a global sports stage.

According to crypto news outlet Decrypt, House of Doge, the Dogecoin Foundation, and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) have teamed up to register Dogecoin as the official sponsor of IndyCar driver Devlin DeFrancesco’s #30 Honda race car. Fans can choose from three design options, with voting open until March 25, 2025.

DeFrancesco shared, “I first invested in Dogecoin back in 2020 and have been actively recommending it to people ever since.

I’m thrilled to be part of this project.” The voting results will be announced on March 26, and alongside the design reveal, a Dogecoin donation campaign will also take place.

The funds raised will go to the Riley Children’s Foundation to support newborn medical care in the U.S.

This isn’t Dogecoin’s first rodeo in racing sponsorships.

Back in 2014, the Dogecoin community crowdfunded $55,000 to sponsor NASCAR driver Josh Wise’s car.

In 2021, they backed driver Stefan Parsons’ NASCAR vehicle, but a crash during the race left him in last place, and the DOGE price took a nosedive too.

Meanwhile, Dogecoin is currently trading at $0.174, up 5% in the last day.

However, it’s down 32% over the past month, showing its usual high market volatility. House of Doge stated, “We aim to make Dogecoin an everyday payment method and expand its brand value through collaborations with various sports.”
